Smyth Again Earns PIA "Best Workplace" Honor

bwa_2012DECEMBER 03, 2012 ST. PAUL, MN - Smyth Companies has again been named a "Best Workplace" company by Printing Industries of America (PIA).  The Best Workplace in the Americas program is PIA's way of recognizing printing companies that demonstrate superior practices in employee relations and human resources.  Smyth was one of only seven printers in their category to earn the designation of 2012.

PIA has identified specific human resource areas by which companies are evaluated, including work environment, development and advancement opportunities, benefits, and workplace safety.  Smyth's performance in these and other areas was found to be exceptional.

"This outstanding achievement is testimony to the exemplary practices of your company," said Michael Makin, president of PIA.  "The judges found your human relations practices and their application on a day-to-day basis to be among the best in the country."

Smyth CEO John Hickey sees the award as a reflection on the culture of the company. "We try very hard to make sure employees feel empowered and fairly rewarded for their efforts," said Hickey.  "One of the timeless goals of our company is to be a great place to work, and being named a "Best Workplace" company by PIA is an indication we are on the right track."

This is the fifth consecutive year Smyth has been honored in the program.
